What is Rapid Response?

Rapid Response, within EMS, refers to the quick and immediate reaction or intervention to address a medical situation or problem. When a medical emergency occurs, such as a car accident, heart attack, or other life-threatening situations, rapid response from EMS is vital. Paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) are trained to quickly assess the situation, provide immediate medical care, request extra resources and transport patients to the appropriate medical facilities.
