Basic

This section is designed to assist you in delivering all parts of the Training for EMT Basic.

This covers Intro & Policies, Radio Etiquette, Basic First Aid, Report Writing, Ambulance Driving and S&R: Basic. These also contain the associated pass requriments and marks.

Should the cadet fail any section, they will need to redo that entire section but wont need to redo any passed sections, for example, If a cadet hit a pedestrian on their driving but passed Basic First Aid and USAR, they would only need to redo driving.

Pass Checklist

Policies and Into

● Has read and understood the policies as outlined on Info-hub

● Has had an introduction to SFH

Radio etiquette

● Has demonstrated correct radio use as outlined in EMT Basic handbook

Basic First Aid

● Satisfactory demonstration of Basic First Aid

Ambulance Driving

● Good standard of driving

● Appropriate use of lights and sirens

● No significant Damage to vehicle

● No pedestrians hit/killed

● Effective use of ambulance to Roadblock

USAR

● Able to locate patient

Report Writing

● Has demonstrated that they can write a clear and understandable report using the SAFM template (Report #1) at any time

Should the cadet fail any of the above, further training should be given and the cadet can be re-tested at a later time (no sooner than 1 hour after fail)
