Ambulance Driving

We will attempt to qualify an EMT on ambulance driving certificate as soon as practicable, so long as there is an available training officer to do the test. Until then they must be accompanied by an EMT Intermediate or or higher level professional for all driving duties.

The ambulance is designed for the treating and conveying of patients. It is large and cumbersome and designed to keep a patient safe. They are not designed to be a fast response unit and should not be treated as such. We expect the highest levels of driving standards and safety when operating any of the EMS fleet.
