In the event of a priority call where a surgery team will be needed, it is good practice to give a pre alert over radio and a clinical handover upon arrival to hospital so that medical staff can prepare and treat as required.

The Pre-Alert should be performed just as you are about to leave the scene. The message should be short and to the point.
